Podcast Episode Suggestion: It’s About the Journey, Not the Destination
Hello, lovelies!
This week’s podcast suggestion is “It’s About the Journey, Not the Destination” from the Fearfully and Wonderfully Made podcast, where I am the co-host! In this episode, Mekia and I talk about our sanctification journeys and how each journey is broken down into 4 components: discovery, discipline, detriment and destination.
Currently, I feel as though I am going through a discovery, discipline and detriment phase, simultaneously. As I have mentioned through my self-care blogs, I am discovering who I am and how I should properly take care of myself. I am also discovering the importance of discipline, which I will be discussing in future blog posts. I am learning how to say “no” to events and outings I really want to attend to save money. Furthermore, I am learning to have discipline to budget and basically, be the adult that I feel as though we all strive to be. As a result of discovery and discipline, I am realizing where I fall short in my attitudes and actions. These attitudes and actions have inhibited me from achieving my goals. For example, I procrastinate and I have a lazy spirit when it comes to cleaning up; therefore, my room usually has to look like a tornado came through before I straighten up. Because I am making an effort to analyze myself and allowing God to speak to me in every situation, I realize that these attitudes and actions are not Godly and that I have to change. With God, all change works for your good and leads you to the destination that God wants you to reach in that season.
We are all at different stages in our journeys and no matter which stage you are at currently, I have personally been there.
