The Devil Is The Real Opp

Whether you use the word, “hater” or “opp,” it means the same thing: it is a person or being who delights in your demise. Regardless of the terminology you use, the devil is your biggest opp.

We get so fixated on who doesn’t like us, how society tries to oppress minorities, how rich people oppress poor people and so on that we don’t realize that the devil is running the show on ALL of it! The Word tells us that anything that is not of God is of the devil. We get so angry at others for doing us wrong; we begin to mistrust others; we begin to become hateful and pessimistic, not realizing that these reactions are what the enemy wants us to have because if he can distract us and plant demonic seeds in our hearts, it will be hard for us to live the prosperous life God wants us to live and ultimately, inhibit us from getting into Heaven.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (NIV) says: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” Additionally, John 10:10 says: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”

I’m not saying that what we go through in life won’t hurt us because it will and it can. What I am saying is to give your pain and hurt over to God. Romans 12:19 tells us that vengeance is God’s. (Let me tell you. God has retaliated on my behalf so good I could never have achieved the same affect.) The Word also tells us that God will fight our battles (Exodus 14:14). Once you do that, do the opposite of what the enemy wants you to do. Still have faith. Still fight for your peace. Still love. Remain in your Word with a grateful and open heart.

Because when God is on your side, even the biggest, worst opp can’t harm you.
