Christian Concepts in Real Life.
You’re Still In The Game
Comparison is an ugly thing. It can cause you to doubt yourself or worse, hate yourself. Over the past few months, God has been working on me with revitalizing dreams I thought I laid to rest. As quick as the motivation came was as quick as the enemy came and tried to flood my mind with lies and comparisons. God reminded me that just because you aren’t Steph Curry, it doesn’t mean you aren’t still in the game.
Go To Work
There’s a famous adage that says, “Practice makes perfect.” However, it’s one thing to know that; it’s an entirely different thing to apply that. For years, I had dreams of accomplishing different things, but because the outcome didn’t equate to my perfect vision, I quit prematurely. Over time, the recurrence of this caused me to doubt myself. However, God reminded me that “Faith without works” is dead.
Don’t Go Back to Egypt
I repeatedly get mad after reading about the Israelites. They were ungrateful and never satisfied. My view of them changed when I realized that I am just like them. I pray for relief and other blessings, but once I receive them, I’m complaining. Don’t cry about Egypt. Instead, enjoy what God has bless you with.
Never Stop Learning
God can use anything to better your life. In 2013, I took a class in undergrad that I initially took because it was required. I hated coding. Fast-forward to 9 years later and most of my career has consisted of coding. You never know what skills God will use to elevate your life, so learn everything you can earnestly.
God Don’t Play About Me
Unfortunately, hostile work environments and unfair working conditions are more common than healthy environments and fair conditions. Working in work environments like these can leave one feeling frustrated, drained and many other negative emotions. As I’ve looked back at past jobs, I noticed that God never left me in a horrible environment for long. All I had to do was trust in Him.
If you trust in [Him], [He] can be there for anything you need
Questions of if you’re capable can arise when it's time to start a new job. Recently, I had to learn that God will never bless you with a new job that He will not qualify you for
Because I’m Happy
Being happy is a choice. This is especially true when it comes to your career. I know it’s hard since the coworkers are messy, the boss is mean and the pay isn’t great. What I learned is find ways to become content/happy. What you’re complaining about is a blessing someone is dreaming about.
