Sermon Suggestion: Nothing Left to Lose
Hello, my lovely butterflies!
This week’s sermon suggestion is Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts’ “Nothing to Lose” sermon.
Being a woman, sometimes it can seem like you made a mistake that you can’t turn away from. It’s like the mistake is always looming over you. It can cause you to feel unworthy among many other adjectives. I have experienced this. After I found out I had Type 1 Genital Herpes, I thought I had ruined my life for forever. As a result, frequent thoughts of suicide plagued my mind and even years afterwards, I doubted if I was worthy of love and acceptance.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts gives the illustration of Eve and her ultimate mistake – eating from the Tree of Knowledge. Pastor Sarah mentions that even after that mistake and all the consequences she and the rest of womankind would have to face and endure, God still made Eve a promise that her seed would crush the head of the serpent.
This sermon was reaffirmation that God still loves me despite my mistakes and that He can still use me. If you’re looking for encouragement or inspiration that you are not your mistakes and that you are still blessed even though you messed up, “Nothing Left to Lose” is a great sermon to watch.
Stay blessed, my lovelies!
Quotes that stood out to me from this sermon include:
“Even though he bruised her heel, he couldn’t take her out of the game.”
“Bruised heels still crush serpent heads.”
“There’s something about a woman who knows how to walk with a limp.”
“Start praying like it might get on God’s nerves.”
