What A [Twisted] World
As I grow in my faith and continue to walk on this Christian journey, I am realizing that everything is spiritual. The horrors we view in this world are a result of evil spirits either possessing or afflicting an individual. Toxicity we experience or exude is the result of trauma that we have unwarily allowed the enemy to manipulate. Even subjects and practices that we deem are normal are actually manipulated by the enemy.
In today’s time, zodiac signs, numerology, palm readings, belief in manifestation from the universe, burning sage, and so many others are all practices of witchcraft and how the enemy tries to belittle God. Leviticus 19:31 (NLT) says: “Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the Lord your God.” Many people read horoscopes, read about numerology and visit psychics to understand more about the future and themselves. However, we don’t need that because we have God. God made us. God sees our future just as clearly as he sees our present and our past. If we want guidance on how to navigate our day, want understanding of what trouble lies ahead or want protection from evil spirits, all we have to do is truly seek God. He can bless us with wisdom, knowledge and discernment. He can and will protect us. By using other mediums and tools, essentially, we are telling God that He isn’t good enough. We don’t trust Him enough to communicate with us or protect us. Moreover, believing in these things negate what God is: a Creator and a Protector. By saying all Aries or all Geminis are the same is saying that God didn’t make us unique, that He simply replicates the same 12-13 types of people. By believing in these things, we are putting another god or idol over Him.
Exodus 20:3-5 (NLT) states:
“You must not have any other god but me.
“You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected – even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.”
If you’re seeking clarity on who you are or how to navigate life, all you have to do is develop a relationship with the Lord. You don’t need outside, worldly counsel. All you need is God and nobody else. He spoke words and created everything you see: the sky, the ground, animals, trees and more. He breathed life into Adam and violà, man became a living being. What makes you think that He can’t speak to you and show you the things you are seeking? Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT) says: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Furthermore, Luke 12:28-31 (NLT) states:
And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
