Happy Thanksgiving!
Since today is Thanksgiving, I thought it would be appropriate to write a blog post about what I am thankful for.
First, I am thankful for God. I am thankful for His mercy, His grace, His love, His forgiveness, His wisdom, His insight, and His power. I am thankful that despite my flaws and my shortcomings that He still loves me and wants to use me. I am thankful for the gifts that He bestowed upon me. I am thankful for the ability to be used by Him.
I am thankful for my readers. Thank you for embarking on this journey with me and allowing me to share my deepest and innermost thoughts, secrets and struggles. Normally, I am an open person, but only to a certain extent. This platform has allowed me to open up in ways I’ve never imagined. By using this platform, I have been breaking a stronghold over me and have started realizing that the devil wants to stifle my growth by making me feel like I’m crazy and alone. I’m realizing that someone has a similar story and my testimony can be helpful.
I am thankful for my family and my friends who put up with me on a regular basis (lol). I wouldn’t be who I am without them. Whether good, bad, frustrating or annoying, they each have impacted my life in a unique way.
I am thankful for my struggles. Without rain, plants would never grow. Without setbacks, I would never gain more wisdom. Instead of being regretful and hateful of my past, I am choosing to embrace it. God can use any and everything for His glory. As I look at my past, all I can say is, “But God!”
This Thanksgiving, while you’re surrounded by family and friends, take a minute to Thank God for all you’re thankful for. Psalm 107:1 (NLT) says: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever.”
I hope everyone has a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
